Professor Safa graduated from Iowa State University with a Ph. D. in MCDB in 1980.He obtained a post as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Chicago in 1987, and from 1990 to 1996 he oversaw the laboratories for molecular pharmacology and pharmacology in the section of hematology/oncology. He accepted a tenured Associate Professor position at Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC)'s Department of Experimental Oncology in 1996, then in 1999 he was given a promotion to tenured Professor. From 1998 to 1999, Dr. Safa served as the Hollings Cancer Centre at MUSC's Drug Resistance Programme Director.

His research interest includes multi-targeted therapy of pancreatic tumors, brain cancer, and breast cancer through modulation of the death receptor signaling pathway in cancer cells.

Dr. El Hadji Seydou Mbaye was born in 1978 in Kaolack a region of Senegal. During 2008-2013, he earned his PhD in Biology and Human Pathologies with the collaboration of the International Agency for Research on Cancer / World Health Organization, (IARC/WHO), Lyon (France); He obtained a Master’s of Life and Health, Specialty Biology of microorganisms, Virology; a Master’s of Life and Health, option Immuno-physiopathology; a License of Biochemistry in Louis Pasteur University of Strasbourg (France); and a General Degree in Sciences and Technologies in University of METZ (France). He was certified Grade 10/10 by the Federation International of Gynecology Obstetric (FIGO), the Accreditation Council of Oncology in Europe (ACOE), and the Institute Catalan of Oncology (ICO). These credits were recognized as Physician’s Recognition Award (AMA PRA Category 1) by the American Medical Association. He was awarded as International Outstanding Scientist Awards 2020, Awarded as the Best Researcher Award 2021, by VDGOOD. He was certified, by the United Nations, by IARC/WHO. Mohammad Esmail Akbari is a Professor of Surgical Oncology at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (SBUMS). He is the head of Cancer Research Center and comprehensive Cancer Control Center at SBUMS, a board member of EURAMA (Europa-Asian Breast Cancer Association), a member of Iranian and the American Association of Surgeons and the President of the Association of World with No Tobacco. He is the editor in chief of Iranian Cancer Prevention Journal. Diagnosed with stage IIIc colon cancer in 1994, he opted for a low dose long term chemotherapy protocol that is now called metronomic chemotherapy. Retsky is Editor and Romano Demicheli is Co-Editor of a Springer/Nature book on breast cancer published in July 2017. Retsky is a founder of the Colon Cancer Alliance and has published more than 90 papers in physics and cancer.

Dr. Slimane Belbraouet received his Ph.D. at the Center of Human Nutrition from the Université de Nancy (France) in 1994. Professor Belbraouet started his academic career in 1980 at the Université de Sidi Bel abbes (Algeria) and is currently a full professor in the School of Nutrition at the Université de Moncton (Canada) teaching both undergraduate and graduate levels in nutrition.

He is internationally recognized for his research expertise in food science, the promotion of healthy eating (nutrition of the elderly, ethnicity, and obesity), and the etiology of diseases related to nutrition (nutrition and cancer; obesity and risk factors).

Ana Grilo is a PhD in Psychology speciality in Health Psychology. She is a Full Professor of Psychology at Lisbon School of Health Technology, Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon, Portugal, lecturing in Health Psychology and Health Communication. She is the Subdirector of exact, life, social and human sciences Department, and a member of the Council of Representatives at Lisbon School of Health Technology.
